About Me

Melissa Joshi, M.Ed., BCBA, LBA

Melissa is a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and Licensed Behavior Analyst (LBA) with over seven years of experience supporting children with autism and their families. Her passion for working with young children began long before entering the field of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), through years of experience in childcare, including daycare and nannying roles. These early experiences provided her with a strong foundation in child development and fostered a deep appreciation for the importance of early learning, family involvement, and individualized support.

Melissa earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of North Texas and her Master of Education in Special Education with a concentration in Applied Behavior Analysis from Texas Tech University. During her graduate training and professional career, she developed a strong interest in early intervention and the meaningful impact that evidence-based treatment can have on a child’s developmental trajectory.

Throughout her career, Melissa has worked with children across a wide range of ages and developmental levels in both direct-care and leadership positions. Her clinical experience includes conducting assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, providing caregiver coaching, supervising clinical teams, and implementing programs focused on communication, social skills, adaptive behavior, play skills, and behavior reduction. She is particularly passionate about helping young children build foundational skills that support long-term success across home, school, and community settings.

Melissa's background in daycare and nannying, combined with her clinical training in ABA, has given her a unique perspective on child development and early childhood learning. This experience has strengthened her ability to recognize developmental milestones, collaborate with families, and create interventions that are both effective and practical within a child's natural environment. She believes that the early years provide a critical opportunity for growth and that family-centered intervention can create lasting positive outcomes.

In addition to her ABA training, Melissa is trained in the Early Start Denver Model (ESDM), an evidence-based intervention designed specifically for young children with autism. She is passionate about integrating developmental and behavioral approaches to create engaging, meaningful learning opportunities for children and their families.

Melissa's long-term vision is to build a practice that combines high-quality clinical care with strong family partnerships. She believes that parents and caregivers are essential members of the treatment team and strives to provide them with the knowledge, confidence, and support needed to help their children thrive. Her goal is to empower children to develop greater independence, communication, and confidence while improving quality of life for the entire family.

Outside of her professional work, Melissa enjoys spending time with her husband, traveling, exploring new cultures, and continuing to expand her knowledge of child development, behavior science, and early intervention.
